Esthetic Clinics: Table Paper and Linen Turnover Between Clients
What Has to Change Between Clients?
Everything that touched the client. In an esthetic room that means the table covering, the pillow case or face cradle cover, the towel under the client's head, and any bowl or spatula that came into contact with product or skin. The CliniEco Table Paper Roll - 18 Inch x 200 Feet, Smooth White is the least expensive of those items and the one that sets the rhythm of the room reset.
Ontario's Personal Service Settings regulation, O. Reg. 136/18, is written around that reset: a clean covering and freshly laundered linen for each client, not a fresh layer over yesterday's.
Which Surface Gets Which Material?
| Surface | Between clients | Material |
|---|---|---|
| Treatment table | New paper, full length | 18 in smooth roll |
| Wide table or spa bed | New paper, full length | 21 in smooth roll |
| Face cradle | New cover | Paper or laundered cover |
| Towels and wraps | Fresh from laundry | Reusable linen |
| Product bowls, spatulas | Clean or single-use | Stainless or disposable |
| Heated blanket | Wipe down, fresh cover | Washable cover |
The distinction that matters in practice is porous against non-porous. Paper and linen are single-client items; a stainless bowl is cleaned and reused, and a spatula that touched product is single-use.

How Much Paper Does a Room Use?
A 200 ft roll is about 61 m. At roughly one metre per client, that is 60 table-lengths, so a single room running twelve clients a day goes through a roll every five to six days. Two rooms double it, and a clinic that also papers a trolley or a second table adds a third again.
Buying by the case is where the maths improves: a CliniEco Examination Table Paper — Smooth, 21″ × 225 ft (Case of 12 Rolls) covers a busy room for weeks and removes the mid-week reorder. Rooms that reset on a fixed sheet length rather than a free roll do better with CliniEco Exam Table Roll — 18-inch, 400 Sheets (8 × 50-Sheet Boxes), because the tear line sets the length and staff stop guessing.
Why Do Some Rooms Waste More Than Others?
Because the roll is mounted where staff cannot reach it comfortably, so they pull twice as much as they need. A dispenser at the end of the table, at hip height, is the whole fix. The second cause is a room reset done at the end of the day rather than between clients, which forces a full linen change and a deep clean in one block.

Recording the reset tells a manager which room is turning over and which one looks tidy because the covering was never pulled.
What Does an Inspection Look For?
Three things. A clean covering on every table. Laundry handled so that clean and soiled never share a shelf. Product containers closed and spatulas not reused. Public Health Ontario's personal service settings guidance covers the same ground in plain language, and it is the version most operators read first.
What Else Belongs in the Reset?
A waste bin within reach, a closed sharps container if the service involves anything sharp, and gloves for the person resetting. Esthetic services that use lancets or needles belong in the same room standard as a clinic: the covering changes, and the sharp goes straight into a rigid container rather than a bin liner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does table paper have to be changed between every client?
Yes. A covering that touched one client does not go under the next. Paper is the lower-cost way to meet that; laundering linen costs more, and both have to happen before the room is reset.
How many clients does one 200 ft roll cover?
About 60 to 70 table-lengths if each client gets roughly a metre, so a room running twelve clients a day uses a roll every five to six days.
Is 18 inch paper wide enough for a treatment table?
18 inches is 46 cm, which covers a standard esthetic treatment table. A wider table or a client who moves during treatment calls for 21 inch, and a split width is worse than a narrow one.
Can linen be used instead of paper?
Yes, if the clinic can launder and store it properly. Linen costs more per client but produces less waste, and the inspection point is the same: a clean covering for every client, every time.
