Three boxes of twelve rolls make the case, 36 rolls in all, and the roll it is usually ordered alongside is the transparent 1-inch medical tape, 12 rolls to a box — cloth where the hold has to survive movement, transparent where the dressing has to be seen through.
What does one roll of cloth tape cost in the 3-box case?
The case is $56.97 for 36 rolls, so a roll works out at about $1.58: 56.97 divided by 36 is 1.5825. A single 12-roll box is $18.99, which is the case divided by three. Per-roll is the useful figure because tape is consumed by taping task rather than by patient — a dressing change takes a few strips, a tubing run takes several — and a roll that is priced at a dollar and a half is one that can be put in every exam room instead of being carried between them.

When does cloth tape hold better than paper tape?
Cloth is the right backing when the tape has to carry a load: a dressing over a moving joint, a length of tubing running to a pump, a pad that has to stay put through a transfer. The woven backing resists tearing under tension and it can be torn by hand along the weave, which matters at the bedside. Paper tape remains the better choice on fragile or thin skin, where a lower peel force is the point, so most rooms end up holding both and choosing by the skin in front of them rather than by which box is closer.
How do you keep 36 rolls from disappearing into drawers?
Give each room one box and keep the third box sealed as the reorder point. Tape that is unwrapped and loose in a drawer picks up lint and dust, and a roll that has been handled with soiled gloves is waste. Keep the roll in its box on the wall or in the cart, write nothing on the core, and move the sealed box into service only when a room's box is empty — that way the case lasts the month it is meant to last and the reorder is a single line.
Tape vanishes by room, not by patient, so restocking it on the exam-room restock planner is closer to the truth than counting boxes. Dressing entries — who taped what, when — are kept on dressing and taping record templates in the compliance log centre, the same centre as the instrument log generator. Several rooms or several sites: wholesale ordering. Skin-care questions drawn from your own patient mix belong with the compliance desk.
