Insulin syringes with a 1 mL barrel and a 31 gauge needle, supplied 100 per box. The 1 mL barrel with half-unit or unit graduations is the format used for the smallest doses, where a larger barrel would make the dose hard to read.

This page documents the specification, sizing logic and sourcing position for these syringes for Canadian clinics, pharmacies, diabetes education programs and care homes.

Frequently asked questions

Why does syringe barrel size matter for insulin?

Dose accuracy. A 1 mL barrel gives more space between graduations than a 3 mL barrel, so small doses are easier to read — which is also why insulin is commonly supplied in dedicated 0.3 mL, 0.5 mL and 1 mL formats.

What does 31G mean?

Needle gauge, or outside diameter: 31G is thinner than 29G or 30G, which usually means less injection discomfort. Thin needles require more care with injection technique.

Can facilities buy syringes without a prescription?

In Canada, the licensing classification of the device determines what documentation a supplier must hold. This listing is being prepared against that requirement; pricing and ordering will be enabled once it is complete.

How do I ask about volume supply?

Use our B2B enquiry form. We will confirm documentation status and lead times.
