For the work where you need to see one thing very clearly
3.5× is the magnification for endodontics, surgical work and detailed restorative procedures — the moments when you are looking at a single tooth or a single site and the surrounding arch is not what matters.
It is the same frame, the same adjustability and the same flip-up mount as our 2.5×. What changes is the optics: more magnification, and a correspondingly smaller field of view. Read the trade-off section below before you choose between the two, because the higher number is not automatically the right purchase.

Key features
• Adjustable interpupillary distance — one frame fits different users, no custom lab work.
• Adjustable declination with flip-up optics — lift the lenses out of the way between patients without removing the frame.
• Multi-coated prism optics — bright, high-contrast, low-distortion image across the field.
• Four selectable working distances — 350 / 400 / 450 / 500 mm.
• Universal T-mount — fits the CliniEco Wireless Headlight and most standard loupe lights.
Which one to choose, and the trade-off nobody explains
Higher magnification means a smaller field of view. That is physics, not a product limitation. Our 2.5× shows approximately 90 mm across at a 400 mm working distance; our 3.5× shows approximately 65 mm. More detail, less context in the frame. Choose the magnification that matches the work, not the biggest number on the page.
• 2.5× — general dentistry, hygiene, restorative. You can see most of an arch without repositioning, which is what you want when you are working across a quadrant.
• 3.5× — endodontics, surgical and detailed restorative work, where you are looking at one tooth or one site closely and do not need the surrounding view.
Working distance: the setting that decides whether loupes work for you
Each pair offers four selectable working distances — 350 mm (short), 400 mm (standard), 450 mm and 500 mm (long). Pick the wrong one and you will be straining or sitting badly, no matter how good the optics are.
Measure it before you order. Sit or stand the way you actually work, close your eyes, let your arms drop naturally, then open your eyes and have someone measure from your eyes to your hands. That distance is the one to order. Most clinicians land at 400 mm; shorter clinicians and those who work seated close often need 350 mm; taller clinicians working over a standing patient often need 450 or 500 mm. If you are unsure, tell us your height and whether you work seated or standing, and we will tell you which one we would pick.
Why these are adjustable rather than custom-made — and when that is the wrong answer for you
Custom loupes are made to one person's anatomy. They are excellent, and if you are the only person who will ever wear them and you are willing to wait several weeks and pay for the fitting, they are a reasonable purchase. What they are not is fast, shared, or replaceable.
Ours take the other route: adjustable interpupillary distance and adjustable declination on a flip-up mount, ready to use out of the box. There is no fitting appointment and no multi-week wait. The flip-up optics lift out of the way between patients without removing the frame, which matters when you are moving between magnification and unaided work all day.
Where we would tell you to go custom instead: if you have a strong preference for a fixed, individually-fitted declination angle and you know your working posture will never change, a custom pair will feel better than any adjustable pair. We would rather say that than pretend adjustability is identical to a custom fit. It is not. It is faster, cheaper, and it works for anyone who picks them up — which is why clinics standardise on them.
What they mount to
The universal T-mount fits our CliniEco Wireless Headlight and most standard loupe lights, so you are not tied to one brand of light. The frame is lightweight alloy / TR90 at approximately 70 g including optics — light enough that the weight is not what you notice after an hour.
In the box
Loupes, protective case, microfibre cloth.
What we can state plainly
• The optics are multi-coated prism — bright, high-contrast and low-distortion across the field. We name the type rather than saying "high quality optics".
• Selectable working distance is four discrete positions (350 / 400 / 450 / 500 mm), not a continuous adjustment. Know which one you need before ordering.
• We will tell you if the wrong magnification or working distance is what you are about to buy. Send us what you do and how you sit or stand, and we will answer honestly, including telling you to choose the other model.
